Mothers Day

A few weeks ago on Mother's Day, we were ALL together. That's a rarity nowadays!

It was a GREAT day!

Closing Baseball Ceremonies

Baseball season has been a wash out lately. Because of all this rain, we have just kind of stopped baseball. It sucks!

But, I do have stuff to post of the boys playing.

Before that though, last weekend, in the rain I might add, we had our closing ceremonies for recreational baseball.

 Hamilton Hodges
Coach Pitch

Hollister Hodges
Kid Pitch

Check out the smile once he reaches his Dad!

Wait, what is happening?

AGGHHH!!!! DADDY!!!!

You are never too big for Dad to pick up!!!

So, baseball hasn't ended. This summer we are playing select coach pitch U9 division. As a matter of fact, we should be playing today, but the rains and floods this week have washed out the fields. We'll try again another weekend!

Goodbye Baha, Hello Bi-Cross Hearing Aides

It's official. Hollister no longer wears the Baha for hearing. He has boycotted it actually for almost 2 months, but now its official. As he has gotten older, wearing the head band and having a green colored rectangle on his head has become not as cool.

Today he received his NEW hearing aides. He now wears bi-cross hearing aides. They are specific to his hearing loss.

Absolutely amazing how little they can be seen.

The "cross" is worn on the left side (non hearing side). Its job is to send sound via wi-fi to the right side so that he hears better and doesn't have to turn his head when you are speaking to him from the left side.

He has low frequency hearing loss in his right ear and the hearing aide on that side will assist with that hearing as well.

Today we picked them up. It's hard for him to tell the audiologists how he hears, but technology is amazing and the tests they are able to run and make adjustments just blows my mind.

I know for me, I am so relieved we never went with the implanted cochlear implants. They are amazing, but for Hollister's hearing loss, these are the BEST!

When we were driving back today from San Antonio, Trevor asked him if he could hear the radio and he said yes. Trevor said, "Clearly? all the words?" He said yes. It was much quieter than we normally have to listen to music in the truck. It's those little things that make me so happy for him.

We received two very nice solid cases for them, one smaller case, some cleaning supplies and we also receive 3 years worth of batteries! Yes, 3 years!!! The batteries will have to be changed every 5-7 days, so this is quite the relief for us. Hearing Aide batteries are NOT cheap!
I can't wait to see how he does with this new chapter in his world.

Baseball Updates

Before baseball, check out my cuties at Steak and Shake during Spring Break....

Baseball is in full swing. Our opening weekend was rained out last weekend, but last week and this weekend, we played plenty of games and made up for it.

First, new uniforms for the AVALANCHE!

Hamilton played first last week during the week.
He is playing coach pitch this year. "He is playing up" which means he technically is still  t-ball age, but was bored with that so we are allowing him to play with older kids. It is a good experience for him, he loves it, but it is going to be a long season.

Troy and Chris Collins, also on his team.
Dinner after the game!

This weekend, we had another crazy busy one.
Friday consisted of a soccer game for Hollister. (They won 5-1)
Pictures for Hollister and Hamilton for baseball and our entire league.

Saturday morning the Avalanche started a tournament in Taylor while Hamilton had soccer and baseball here in Elgin.

Hamilton and I joined them for the second game and then headed back to Elgin for a third game as part of our regular season.

Hollister even got to pitch Saturday night.
He was thrilled and did pretty well.
Unfortunately we lost that game.

Saturdays tournament games were a tie and a win.
We were the 4th seed and played Sunday morning at 9am.
We lost that game, so our day was over.

We came home and took naps. It was wonderful!
Then we finished moving Hollister into his own room!!!
It feels weird, but it was nice to get their rooms cleaned.
Pictures to come!!

Oh, and this past week, this happened:
Thankfully there was this to make it all better!

Cuteness

I was looking through pictures and trying to figure out where to start posting when I realized a few things.

1. Posting about things that happened two months ago is never fun
2. I don't have a lot of pictures of stuff. At least not nearly as many as I used to take.
3. My boys are absolutely BE-YOU-TI-FUL

So, that is what I will share with you.

Post haircuts in January

Tried to take a simple picture while waiting on our pancakes at Mc Donald's one cold Saturday morning. With Hamilton though, you can see nothing is that simple!

2015 Update

How did we get to the 17th of March and I haven't blogged once? Wow!

I will get events posted, but how about an update?

In January, Hollister turned 9.

In February, Trevor turned 45.

At the end of February, Kendrick moved out! Yep, he has his own place here in Elgin.

March has brought back sports....
The boys have started both baseball and soccer.

We have lots to look forward to in the upcoming months.

Hollister is getting new hearing aides in a few weeks. This is pretty exciting.
Technology is amazing!

CJ graduates from high school in June.

And Hamilton starts kindergarten!!!!!
Mom is excited for that one!!!

But, let's not rush things....

I have many more posts before that.

So, I leave you with a Happy St. Paddy's day from our youngest leprechaun!
