Back to Back Winning Weekends

Along with playing baseball here in Elgin, Hollister played a shorter season in Austin.

He was part of the Pirates for another league. It was a really good team. We had some friends on the team so it wasn't complete strangers. Hollister had to learn a new position, outfield. He learned a lot and he had a good time winning.

He also learned a lot about batting and he is beginning to use the power he has to be an even better hitter.

Last weekend we were in a tournament with that team. They played 2 games on Saturday and won both those games.

Hollister even got his first home run on that team! It was very exciting.

That night, Saturday, he also played 2 games in Elgin. He got a home run for his team here as well. It was a good day!

Then Sunday, they had to play three games to win first place.
This is not his home run, but him crossing home plate during one of the games.

It was a long weekend, but winning makes it completely worth it!

 His coach, Coach Manny.
The other "Elgin boys" on this team.

The whole Pirates team.
This little guy was quite the trooper. He rooted for his big brother all weekend.

After being at the ball field for two days and about 9 hours on Sunday,
this is what happens on the way home.

The season ended for this team on Thursday night.
Because it was the last game, he was able to play some different positions. He played pitcher and first base man. He got an out for his team while playing each position.

It's blurry, but this is him running to first to get the out!

Then, this weekend, our Elgin coach pitch team that Trevor coaches played in a tournament. We played 4 games yesterday. We went 3-1. We scored 40 runs in those four games, we only gave up 29 runs, which made us the #1 seed in the tournament.

Today we played in the championship game and WON!!!!

It was really a great feeling! These boys had to work for every win they got. We are so proud of Hollister and how well he did.

I am super proud of Trevor. He put this team together and coaches them so well. It's not easy teaching 7 & 8 year olds baseball, and dealing with the parents. He deserves a trophy for sure!

Of course, Hamilton was there both days rooting for him and playing. That's him as the catcher!

Two great weekends of baseball! We wouldn't have it any other way!
