Big Brother

With the older boys gone last week, Hollister was the only "big brother" in the house. We are amazed everyday how good he is with Hamilton. He truly loves that baby. Hamilton adores Hollister too. He watches every move he makes, which is kind of scary too.

The boys will eventually share a room. Hopefully sooner than later.... we still need to change the toddler bed back to a crib.... but anyway....

I was talking to Hollister about how his room is also Hamilton's the other day. Well, he wasn't quite into that idea. he said he needed both beds. One for him and one for his (stuffed) animals. Then at rest time, I caught him laying on the toddler bed. I explained how "Nenick and CC" shared a room and how Mommy and Daddy shared a room and started to explain how he and Hamilton would share, but he interrupted me to say, "Hamilton shares with you and Daddy. I have my own room."
He is in for a shock pretty soon.

But back to the good big brother that he is.
Since it was just the two little boys this past week, I got some shots of just them....

Sharing a ride at HEB!
FREE movie day. Hollister was adamant about pushing Hamilton. he pushed him all the way in and through the whole theater too, even "uphill". We ended up walking the whole theater to get a seat. I turn around and see him pushing and he says, "wow, mommy, this is heavy!" So cute! But he did it on his own! POOL TIME! If I get the camera out for Hamilton, Hollister comes running!

And bath time.... most nights Hollister wants to take a bath with Hamilton. It brings back memories of my own childhood!

Notice their little red faces... pool day... mom missed their faces with the sunscreen... BOO! Hollister says, "my head hurts". Where his hairline meets his forehead is pretty bad. I feel awful, but even after one night he is better.

Family Day

One of the great things about summer break is we can make any day family day. The majority of the working population had 4th of July weekend off. Well, not my husband. He worked the weekend, including the 4th and the 5th too, it was his 21st straight day of work.

But, he did take the next two days off and Tuesday was FAMILY DAY! We called it that all day too. Even when it was not going so well, we were like "look, no crying, its family day!" And that was directed at the two older boys. (okay, just kidding on that one!)

The morning started off with just Trevor and I. Thankfully we have a responsible 18 year old who can help out and he brought all the boys into town to meet us.

First stop... 3 of the 5 boys in our family got haircuts! The youngest of those 3 was not happy about this.

Afterward he would not let me take his picture, but you'll see the haircut in the other pictures. We were not pleased with it, but it is at least out of his face. The other two put hats on after their haircut. I think its a guy thing!

Next stop, CHUCK E. CHEESE... Funny thing is, Hollister wanted to go to Wal-Mart and when we pulled up, instead of being excited, he cried about not being at Wal-Mart. Are you kidding me? We only take him to Chuck E. Cheese once a year for his birthday usually, this is a special treat and he wants Wal-Mart? Of course, he had a great time.
He loved punching these ducks.

Riding the roller coaster ride.Father and son basketball competition.

Hamilton has learned a new trick. He is a blowing bubbles/spitting little man. Check out the video here.

Hollister wouldn't stand with the guys in front of Chuck E. Cheese's picture and these boys wouldn't look at the camera at the same time.

Afterward, we took the family to see Toy Story 3. Super cute movie and of course, the perfect family day stop.Again, no Hollister... can you tell my children are blinded by the sun? Hamilton has a hysterical "squint" on his face.

Last stop was a trip to Target. No, Hollister never made it to Wal-Mart, but Target was even better.Look how big Hamilton looks in this cart!

In great Hodges family tradition, our day was rounded off by Trevor grilling dinner. He did his grilling for the week which is normally done on Sundays. We had ribs, chicken, fajita meat, sausage and corn on the cob. No, we didn't eat all of it of course, but we sure did eat well in this family!

I just loved having everyone together. I wish everyday were family day!

Hamilton's New trick

Hamilton is 34 weeks old. He will be 8 months this Saturday. This is his new trick.
