Another Forgotten Post- San Antonio Trip

Not shocking, I forgot to post about something we did. (No excuses though, I'll just share)

Close to when school started, we decided we wanted to take a small trip with our neighbors to San Antonio to Fiesta Texas with the boys.

The boys LOVE hotels and roller coasters! It was a blast!

This is why they love hotels!
POOLS!!!

This was actually our first swimming of the summer.
Hollister is not allowed to get water in his ears.
He has specially made ear plugs in along with an "ear bandit" wrap.
They work really well!

And this is the other reason they love hotels.
Check out the TUB!!!!
They love the jets!!!

The second day we went to Six Flags, Fiesta Texas.
We enjoyed this day with our neighbors, the Clowdus family!

We were seriously, the FIRST people in line!!!

The boys LOVED seeing their favorite cartoon characters throughout the park!

Hamilton and Cooper spent a lot of time together riding rides.
First, the tea cups!

Next, the boys drove their moms around in the old cars. This was actually the last day for this attraction. They were taking it out of the park the very next day.
After 30 years, gone.
By the end of the day, the lines were long for this iconic ride.
We rode them several times throughout the day.

Kristy and I are in the back of this driving experience.
It's kind of nice to be driven around for a change!

We had some fun on a shoe theme Kiddie Coaster as well.

While we rode with the younger kids, the older kids hit the big ride, The Iron Rattler. The Rattler used to be a wooden roller coaster, but has recently changed to a steel coaster and it is crazy fast!
Hollister liked the ride, but chose not to ride it again.

At least one adult had to ride with the boys. This is some fun strawberry ride.

The Dads got in on the ride fun too!
Mike is behind Trevor next to Cooper.

We rode the log ride together as families, Hamilton was the only one who got wet!

We also rode this all together.
We got wet, but that wasn't good enough for the kids.

This is a view from behind the bridge.
Wanna get wet?
Stand on the bridge!

 Like these fools!

Now, they are wet, and HAPPY!

Really wet!

The little ones enjoyed the merry go round too!

They had an indoor ride that's a Scooby Doo game.
We shot monsters and bad guys.

The older guys (Trevor, Mike and Tony) played basketball.
Of course, it became a competition. What was going to be one game, turned in to about 3.
And no, it wasn't free!

Don't pay attention to the score board, it was not working.

The whole time, these two were entertaining their own crowd.
There was loud dance music on and for Hamilton, that means DANCING!
Cooper joined in too.
Hamilton enters "his own world" when he is dancing.
See Hollister and Jack actually watching one of the Dads play.
Even Cooper is distracted from dancing.
Not Hamilton.

Trevor won twice.
This is what he won.
No, I didn't get my choice (not shocking though)
Hollister likes Lebron James, so he choose the Heat and of course, Trevor likes the Spurs.

Mike's family are Mavericks fans, so they got one of those.
Guess I'll have to go visit them to see on of those.

We also rode a ride as a family (plus Tony)

We actually left the park at closing time. I still can't believe we were there from opening to close, but it was a great day of fun for all of us.

The Clowdus family left that day, we stayed one more day and kept Jack, one of their boys.
Hollister had a doctor's appointment in SA. (yep, convenient right?)
Afterward, we went to the Riverwalk and had lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe.

It was a great weekend and a great way to end summer break!

Labor Day Game

Labor Day  marked the last day for the Round Rock Express 2013-2014 season.

We were lucky to get some FREE tickets.

We had GREAT seats, again right by home plate!!!!

We were also in the shade, thankfully. It was really hot. We still got some sun though.

First (Sports) Black Eye

Hollister started "Kid Pitch" officially on August 1st. He has had a few practices since then.

Friday night at practice, he was hit with a ball, IN HIS EYE!!!

This is what he got for turning his head the wrong way!

Trevor and I were worried that he would be scared to hit afterward. But, Saturday, he had his first scrimmage and went 2 for 2!! He hit off of two different pitchers and he hit the ball into the outfield both times!
Look above the yellow arrow.
That is the ball he just hit!!!

The adventure has begun!
Stay tuned.

10 Years Later

This past week Trevor and I celebrated 10 years being together.

On August 21, 2004, we met.

On August 28, 2004 we had our first date.

Our first date was at Dell Diamond.
We watched a Round Rock Express game directly behind home plate.
It was a cool first date!

10 years later we did the same thing!

On August 28, 2014 we attended a Round Rock Express game together.
This time we ate at the Intel Club at the field.
 It was awesome.
A new favorite restaurant, Jack Allen's, is in the club now.

The view from the club.

Then, we went to our seats, behind home plate again!!!!

Between the 2nd and 3rd inning, I was checking a score on my phone and Trevor said, "Elizabeth, look at the screen." I did and this what I saw.
I was SHOCKED!!!
And yes, it did make me cry!
Trevor has quite the hook up at the Dell Diamond for us.

10 years ago we weren't taking pictures together or keeping tickets.
But, we knew then what we knew now, maybe we would have.

It was a really fun night and really neat to go back to where it all started ten years ago.
