Better LateThan Never

The day Hollister got his cast put one (New Year's Eve), I had party invitations for his friends for his birthday party. It was supposed to be at Main Event. They would bowl, rock climb, laser tag, and glow golf.

Well, not with the cast. So, the invites never went out.

We of course we would reschedule. Hollister was counting the days!

His cast came off on a Tuesday and his party was that Saturday at Main Event.

His Daddy planned this party. He took care of all the details. I was just the camera lady! We even had a party coordinator. She took care of everything and when she needed answers, she went to "Party Dad".

The group bowled first.

They all enjoyed bowling.

Next, the coordinator lines them up and takes them to Laser Tag.
Of course, Hollister is the leader.

This activity was a little different. Hamilton isn't tall enough yet. I couldn't go in for pictures. The older boys and Trevor participated in this as well. This was Hollister's first time. He truly enjoyed it. I don't think he was very good at it, but he didn't seem to care.

We waited in the party room for them.
They all came in ready for drinks, pizza and cake!

Of course, Trevor made the cake. It is an Infinity Game cake. For those who don't know, its a new video game out where you put Disney characters on the portal and interact with them. The Lone Ranger set is one of his favorites.
This is a shot of the portal. Of course, Trevor matched it perfectly!

This is my shy boy while being sung to.
I know, he looks so sad, but he isn't. This is after he blew the candles out.
Apparently he did it quick by Kristy's reaction and by Jack's it created quite a smoke stir!

These are the party goers!

Main Event provides this bowling pin for his friends to sign as a keepsake. It is really cool!

Another Line
This time they are headed to Glow Golf. (glow in the dark golfing)
They are hopping all the way to the golf room!

The boys. Notice they are holding game cards!
Can't go to Main Event without visiting the huge game room!
Clearly, the big boys couldn't resist either!
This is a simulated roller coaster. They are shaking and their hair is blowing like crazy.
They actually paid for that torture!
The six of us enjoyed a 4D movie experience together as well. It's a 3D movie where the seats move and shake you around. Loads of fun!
Hamilton was all about his glasses!

The only thing we didn't get to do was rock climbing. Hollister is still limping and rock climbing is not an option. But, trust me, he enjoyed his party as much as ever!

Finally, we can end his birthday. He seems to always find a way to make the whole month of January his birthday, not just the 6th.

Cast Free!!!

Hollister spent 3 weeks in a cast.

This was how he took a bath. Trevor did the washing, he always handles stuff like that.

The Friday before he was to get his cast off, we allowed him to have his friends sign the cast.
We signed it too.

Trevor made quite the canvas out of his cast!

We went in first thing Tuesday morning. It was quick and painless for it to be removed.

WOW! check out that leg!!!

Walking afterward was another story. He struggled some. He still has a limp, but it is getting better. We were told it would take a few weeks before he was back to normal.

And finally, two shoes!

It's GREAT to be EIGHT!

It's official he's 8 years old!

The sweetest, most kind hearted boy. Seriously, he is something else. He takes everything he is given and kicks it in the teeth. His broke foot isn't slowing him down a single bit. He had to postpone his birthday party with his friends because of that cast. He knows it will happen, just in a 3 weeks.

He went to work with his Daddy today because there was no school for kids, but I had to work. He left the house at 6am and got home at 7:30pm!!! He fell asleep at one of the houses they worked at today, woke up and didn't feel well. Walked outside and threw up. Never once complained. We aren't sure what happened, he just had an upset stomach. I think he is dealing with some allergies and I think the drainage may have caused that incident. You will see his poor nose is so red from blowing and wiping it all day.

We had a small party here at the house for him, just 5 of us.
(CJ is in school right now, being Monday and all).

He was so sweet and read every card he received. His grandparents made sure he has more money that his parents!  He loves getting money these days.

His Daddy wrote him a sweet note in his card. Trevor is very sentimental on his boys' birthdays.

Hamilton was there to oversee everything.

After reading Hamilton's card and opening the gifts from him, they were all hugs. I could use this in my favor years from now, I am sure.
Hollister got the new Disney Infinity game for Christmas and got many more characters tonight.
He is thrilled.

He also got a board game. Gotta take a break from video games some times.

Stay tuned because we will be having a party for him after his cast comes out so he can celebrate with his friends. he won't let us forget it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET BOY!

A Video Treat

I am keeping my fingers crossed that this works.

Hamilton is quite the singer around here. This is him singing in the car. The quality is bad, I know, its a iPhone for goodness sake. But, you get the point. He figured out I was videoing at the end so he was silly. But, this is the fun we have in our car when we go anywhere!

Enjoy!

End of 2013

Us at the beginning of 2013
2013 flew by. I don't think I am the only one that feels that way.
Thankfully 2013 did not bring any big surprises for our family.

I still work at the middle school teaching 6th grade math.
Trevor still works extremely hard at TKH Homepros. We have some exciting news coming up concerning the business, stay tuned that announcement soon!

Kendrick still works full time and attends school.
He did become a full time employee with Air Products though. This is a big deal!

CJ turned 16 and became a driver. This has been a very nice edition to the family. He is a junior and preparing for his last year of high school. he is officially signed up for the SAT test later this month.

Hollister continues to be brave when it comes to his ear surgeries. He had one in the Spring. He has begun a new study involving CT Scans and MRI's. These are less evasive ways to look for cholestetomas.
He had to endure his first IV over the break. He has always been "asleep" when he's had them before. It was really scary. They put this numbing cream on him. He says it didn't work, but he loved that it looked like eyes so we had to take this picture.

Hamilton continues to keep us on our toes. He turned 4. This kid is just plain funny.
He told Trevor the other night that he speaks Spanish. When he asked him to say something in Spanish, he said, "I only do it at school." Oh really?

Hollister decided to end 2013 with a bang. He hurt his foot at Grandma's house the day after Christmas. he limped on it for a few days and a large bruise appeared. We took him in and they wanted an x-ray. And of course, he has some stress fractures. After a VERY long process on New Year's Eve, he has a new green cast for the next 3 weeks!

That face says it all!
New Year's Eve

Happy 2014, here it comes, ready or not
