Baby Blue Fever

I hosted a baby shower over Labor Day weekend for my neighbor Kristy. She is having another boy. I was so hoping for a pink theme, but baby blue it would be.

Trevor made a great cake of course. The bad thing was an hour before the shower the electricity went out in all of Elgin. Seriously? I thought it was some cruel joke. Well, fondant needs cool air and the cake starting melting.

Trevor handled it well, I was a basket case.

I was about to have 15 + people in my house with NO AIR!!!! Sorry the pics are dark, no light. And no, I couldn't open the blinds, it was TOO HOT!

I did an all blue, candy theme. We have blue taffy, blue jelly beans, blue Pixie Stixx, blue York Paddy bits and even blue Almond Joy candy pieces. I have blue Sixlets (chocolate covered candy), and blue candy sticks. And of course, blue punch as well.

Chocolate covered pretzels.

They are cigars and say "Its a boy!" SUPER CUTE and of course, a big hit! Kristy had asked for a strawberry cake, but then I realized that it would be pink. Uh, that doesn't match my theme!!! But, I gave in and settled for blue sprinkles on the cupcakes. Oh and here's the guest of honor's mom! Cooper Adam Clowdus should be here early October!

A Texas Tradition

Last week we were given FREE tickets to the Longhorn football game. Free, people... you don't say no. Even when your blood bleeds maroon. And when your husband and your friends bleed orange, you just go with it.

We headed out with our kids and neighbors and their kids, all 8 of us... in the hot, in the traffic.. oh and one is 8 months pregnant!!!!

We "tailgated" for a little while on the parking garage roof. Kristy's shirt is sooo cute! It says "future longhorn" with baby hand prints! It does pain me to see those boys in orange, but they are still soooo cute!

I don't own anything burnt orange.

They were playing BYU, they are blue. I was neutral. I wore brown. The walk to the stadium didn't seem far from the top of the garage, but when we started walking, it was! It was downhill which was nice. The number of people was insane!!! All in burnt orange. I am sorry, its just not a pretty color people. Tony was a huge help. He walked with Hamilton a bunch and held his hand to keep him safe. Once the crowds increased though, it was Daddy time! What a trooper... it was hot and that walk was long.... Here's the Longhorn band. They were good. But being there in all that orange and seeing their band, sure made me miss Aggieland!

The boys had a GREAT time. They were well behaved and it truly was a great experience!!! And for free tickets, I'd do it all over again!

Soccer Star!

Hollister is playing soccer again. Trevor is coaching again. This past Saturday was our first game. It was so different from this.

Hollister is quite aggressive now and gets after that ball! He actually got the whistle blown on him twice for pushing. (oops) No yellow cards in U6 though, thank goodness.
He scored, not 1, not 2, not even 3 goals... he scored FOUR!!! It was very exciting for him, and yes, us too!

After a goal kick...

After a throw inA corner kick

Running that opponent down!

I know, blurry... but he is getting after it!!!

The 1st day of Kindergarten

Let me take you back in time....

Remember this: Well, this is him in his classroom. With his good friend Josh. He knows a lot of his classmates all ready. Love that we chose to keep him in Elgin. And of course, with his Daddy. You know, I have always said and so has he, that his Daddy would have to go to Kindergarten with him...more....But a sigh of relief, Trevor did leave him to enjoy his first day on his own. He did great and he absolutely loves kindergarten!
