Hamilton has a tooth!

You can't see it, but you can feel it with a finger. No way to get a picture. That will have to wait, but its definitely there!

The Lost Post

One negative thing about going digital is we have so many pictures that sometimes even cute things get lost in all the madness. I was "cleaning up" my photo files and found these. This was absolutely hysterical at the time. I can't believe I never blogged about it.

Way back in March....

This actually went on for a while. Trevor got quite the workout as you can, it was tiring. Hollister still talks about it. Now though, we have a table in the kitchen, so there is no room for laundry basket rides.

And as a bonus...
Hamilton is 28 weeks old today. One of my favorite things about having kids close together is I can dress them alike. Trevor actually bought these for the boys though. (He likes it too). How cute are they!?

Quality Time

This past school year CJ and I have spent a lot of quality time together in the car on Friday and Sunday afternoons. It has really been nice, seriously. We talk a lot, about a lot of different things and he always makes me laugh. He makes the "yuck" out of the "driving" portion for me.

This is the quality time I get with CJ now that he is a teenager.Sure do love and miss this boy!

Roller Skating

Hollister went to another birthday party today. (This is our fourth in five weeks.) He wasn't really interested in skating at first because he saw video games! He "played" those for a while. Then, as the actual party was taking place, he decides its time to try skating. They had a "kiddie" area, so that is where he tried it out for a little while. He liked it and asked to do it again. It'll be a nice rainy day activity this summer!

Academic Recognition

As a member of the top 10% of the class of 2010, Kendrick was one of the honorees at a dinner hosted by the Elgin ISD Education Foundation. Each students chose a teacher that has made a difference in their school career and wrote a synopsis about him or her. They were also invited to attend the dinner. Each student was introduced and then spoke on why they chose the teacher he or she thought helped them with their education. The students were each given scholarship money from the foundation. We are very proud of Kendrick's accomplishments this year.

Kendrick chose his German teacher, Mr. Flentge. He has truly enjoyed learning German this year.

This is the top 10% and some of their teachers that attended the dinner.
Dad and Kendrick Now pick up your jaws from the shock of how much they look a like these days!
Its scary I tell ya!!

He was also honored at another award ceremony Tuesday. This was for all students at the high school. We sat through a LOT of awards to get to his.

He received two awards. One was for academic excellence in his Ready, Set, Teach class. This meant that he had the highest average in this class. This one was a nice surprise for us. The second was the recognition for being in the top 10% of his graduating class. We'll have better pictures soon from the local paper, but here's what I was able to get. Needless to say we are extremely proud of all Kendrick's hard work. He has set some pretty high standards for his brothers to follow.

Receiving his academic award.
The Class of 2010 top 10%

The plague, the cord, the "patch" and the certificate are for top 10%. The medal is the academic award.

Happy Half Birthday Hamilton!

Today is Hamilton's half birthday. He is 6 months old. I don't feel like time is flying by, but 6 months does seem like a long time. Life with him is super blessed. He adds great joy to our home. He is very happy baby. He smiles ALL the time. He gives hugs and is very alert and aware of what is happening around him. He's kind of nosy that way. He has started fruits along with vegetables. He rolls over both ways and is close to sitting up, but still kind of uneasy. He can play peek a boo, and we think he is close to having some teeth. He gnaws on EVERYTHING!
No six months stats yet, his check up is not until next week.

I had hoped to get him a cake for this occasion, but Dad pointed out he can't eat it. (What a party pooper) So instead, here's some fun photos of him smiling for me and a video of him playing. He plays peek a boo, but of course when I was filming him, he was being shy. But he is smiling and shows off his thumb sucking talents!

Okay, I had to include both videos I took. They are both sooo cute! (We are at the ball field, sorry for the background noise.)

Happy 1/2 birthday baby boy! I can't wait to see what you bring to us in the next 6 months! And don't worry, by then you will be able to eat cake and I won't let Daddy say no.

High School 2010... PROM

You'd think with a baby and a preschooler I'd be busy, and I am. But right now, its the high schooler who has me busier than the others.

It's great fun though, stressful at times cuz of deadlines and such, but still very rewarding.

So, Friday was prom. Sorry Grandma for taking so long to post pictures... 4 kids can keep me off the computer! Kendrick went with a group of friends and had a GREAT time. He also attended an after prom pool party at our neighbors and says that was the highlight of the night. No pics from that though, sorry. Also, since I sent my camera with a BOY, and didn't give explicit instructions about taking pictures of the girls dresses, there are none of those either. What I am most excited and proud of though, is that Kendrick decided on his own to go to prom and create this keepsake moment from high school. And, I know he is glad he did.

In other high school news.... Kendrick is officially in the top 10% of his class. This is quite an accomplishment to do in in just one short school year. We cannot be more proud of how hard he has worked. There will more on this as graduation gets closer.

We are busy addressing graduation announcements and preparing for a graduation party for him too. He is busy filling out scholarship forms and writing essays. We are a bit late on this, but we are just embracing the things we can control now.

Here's our handsome boy!How suave is he?

This is his good buddy Joel. Also, in the top 10% of the class.

This is Elizabeth, our neighbor AND the valedictorian of his senior class. No, she was not his date, so don't start asking questions and embarrass him.

p.s. please make note that our child is a GREAT judge of character and hangs out with the other "smart" kids! LOVE IT!!!!
