Happy Birthday to me

Friday I turned the BIG 4-0!

I got the best of both worlds this year.

I spent my half my birthday weekend with the boys and half with just my husband.

My beautiful flowers sent to me from my husband (something he has never done, which made it super special!) and balloons from my school team mates. My team at school surprised me with cake and balloons!

My husband made a GREAT cupcake cake! Its awesome being married to a "baker".I had a great helper to blow out my candles with.

Present time!

I got a fun wine glass, books by my fav author and a much needed blow dryer!

Wine glass up close:Saturday afternoon, we were lucky enough to pack up and leave the boys with their big brother for a night away. We planned this to coincide with the Capital 10K run on Sunday. I was pretty content with just hanging out, going to bed early and waking up for the 6mile run. Well, my sweet husband had more in store for me.

We went to dinner at the Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant, which is a special treat no matter what the occasion. We took a carriage ride around downtown. So romantic and something he knows I have always wanted to experience. Lastly, he took me to another spot that I have been telling him over and over I wanted to try. Austin is pretty famous for food trailers. One extremely popular one is Hey Cupcake. No explanation needed right? I was thrilled at this adventure, but since we had just had chocolate fondue, we took them to go. We are also pretty picky about our cupcakes now with Trevor's new found baking abilities. Let's just say, it was the experience that counted, not the cupcakes. Most of all, it was that Trevor made this birthday celebration worth every second. Sunday morning, we rounded our weekend by running in the Capital 10k. This is the largest 10K in Texas. There were 23,000 runners. Since we were running I didn't carry my camera. We'll be e-mailed photos from a company and I'll pay an arm and leg for our photo because I just have to have one. Can you find us? I promise, we are in there!!!

This is how we feel when we are in the midst of running a run, running sucks! I personally don't get a "runners high" after running, but I was glad that we completed it. My sweet hubby ran the whole thing with me when he obviously could have finished it much faster. I was very pleased that we ran it in 1:10ish... I say "ish" because we had to stop at a porta-potty at one point.... When you gotta go, you gotta go!

GOAL!!!!!

Remember this sad boy?March 2010

Well, this past Saturday, he was this boy and HE SCORED HIS FIRST GOAL!!!

Sorry, no picture of the actual goal, but our boy has finally come out of his shell and will run and kick the ball.

Everyone went nuts when he scored because he was so close the week before and had come really close at the beginning of the game as well. When he scored, the crowd erupted and he just stood there, no emotion. Trust me though, he was excited! Now he is pumped and has talked non stop about scoring more goals.

We hope so!
Guess I'd better get my camera ready!

Milk and Cookies

Here he is with no pants on, but getting the cookies from the box again. Then washing it down with milk.
Just kidding! The jug is empty. He loves to play with them from the recycle bucket. I turned around and saw him "drinking" from it. Apparently this is not a learned behavior, just one boys are born with.

Luck of the Irish?

How lucky am I to have these cuties??!!

A St. Paddy's treat for my boys!

Hollister kept saying, "Thanks for the fruit on Patrick's Day Mommy."
Since Trevor was working across the street, we took him a small one for a snack.

We had green eggs on Saturday before the soccer game, we tried something different. This was actually dinner and green pancakes are really tasty!

Spring Break is for relaxing....

Spring break so far...

Friday night, they were so loving and excited to see each other. We'll see how they are by the end of the week.

Saturday morning Hollister asked for green eggs. Seriously, green eggs. Guess he wanted some energy for his soccer game. He played the best he ever has. he kicked and ran and came so close to scoring. Guess we'll try green eggs next week too. He is #3, in the middle about to kick off.
After soccer, Hollister and I made peanut butter play dough by his request again. I will do a separate post on this soon.

Trevor and I were playing scrabble the other night, we looked over and these two were "playing". They had their toys and their snacks. You know, its cute now, but in ten years its going to be scary!

Trevor had to repair our table and of course, he had helpers!

Trevor has made cupcakes and burgers. We eat well, that is for sure!

This is what most of his time is preoccupied with. See the scowl? That's for me. The next words out of his mouth are, "You'd better not put that on your blog, Mother." Ha ha, silly boy... Of course this is going on my blog!

Batting practice. The three behind him are watching him in awe. (LOL)

Some bike fun? Uh, fun? Maybe not, but funny, YEP!

Trevor had to show him how its done!

Hamilton is not so sure about this.

I bet he is thinking, am I part of a circus family? Yes son, you are!

My Hot Rod & How cute are they?

My daredevil and the daredevil in training!

This is what they do when they think they are too big to be outside with us.

Trevor is working across the street this week. We started the actually week off as a family, working! The picture of the boys is proof for me that the boys were working. The picture of me was Trevor's proof that I was working. Very funny honey :)
