Thanksgiving

I feel like Thanksgiving was forever ago now....
but... we did start a new Thanksgiving tradition (kind of)

Two years ago I ran the Turkey Trot in downtown Austin.
Remember that here.

When it was over, Trevor made the statement, "We should all do this next year."

Well, the next year, we had a 2 week old baby.

So, this year... I am back to running and Trevor decided to join me. Sort of... I thought we were going to run together, but ha, ha, jokes on me. He ran for about 2 minutes with me and then he was gone! No, he didn't train. No, he just ran and ran, and yes, he was fast. Who's surprised? yea, me neither...

Before the race.
Hey, this is running, not a beauty contest!

Our cheering section!

After the race, Trevor looks wells rested for a reason.
He had plenty of time before I made it across.

Anyway, it was fun. The boys enjoyed hanging out with their big brother, listening to live music, and seeing all the "turkeys". Sorry, no pics, but trust me, people in Austin are weird!

Afterward, we had a great day of football and a nice dinner. That night was the big A&M vs. Texas game. This year has been tough for the longhorns, but this game is still important in this household!

The rest of the weekend was spent at my mom's working. I know that's why it feels like Thanksgiving was weeks ago instead of days. But, it was all worth it and I am thankful we were together as a family.

HH Airlines Birthday Party

The Cake! A yummy runway!
Gotta give credit... Trevor did all the baking and decorating.
Everything tasted absolutely delicious!

Treats! Present time!
CAKE TIME!!!!
At first he was timid and didn't really like getting dirty. Then Daddy smashed his face in the cake. He didn't really appreciate that though. Once he got a fork, like civilized people, he went to town!

Party favors!

Good Family Fun

Last weekend, we hosted the end of the season soccer party. It was great fun. I know, I need to post about it... eventually...

But, first... we rented a bounce house for the kids to play on. Those things are amazing. They wore the kids out. They had a great time and slept amazingly last weekend, even with the time change.

Well, Sunday morning, Trevor turned it on before it was time to take it back. We were still in our jammies, but who cares. All six of us were in there, just enjoying family time. Do not be fooled into believing that the 4 year old likes it the most. I actually think CJ (13) enjoyed it most of all, followed very closely by Kendrick and Trevor too. At one point, I thought to myself, this is awesome. This is a memory we will have forever!

Ears, Ears and more Ears

So obviously, ears are a big deal in our house. 3 of the 4 boys have had tubes now.

Yesterday, for Hamilton's first birthday, he got tubes put in. We have every indication that this will alleviate the problems he has had and stop all these ear infections!
Playing in the waiting room. It's 6am by the way!
Identification!
The surgery went very well. He didn't even cry when they took him to the back. The Dr. did say both his ears were very infected. Of course, we knew this from the screaming and pulling at his ears he'd been doing days before.
This was the "surgery bed" Its a huge crib... he played in it before hand. He has no clue what is going on of course... It was just a fun play place in his mind.
Vitals...
More Vitals... How sweet of the nurses to make note of his birthday. Ratcliff is his Dr.
No names of patients for confidentiality.

After the surgery was the worst. He was quite fussy from the anesthesia. He took a bottle just fine, but still very cranky. Notice that his car seat is facing the front now. Yep, one year olds get to see where they are going, not where they've been. At this point though, he doesn't care. He is cranky and tired. And, its his birthday, so cry if you want to baby!Within a few hours though, he was very happy and had a great birthday day with Mommy, Daddy and Hollister.
Lunch with the boys... And some movie fun too

Another milestone

Probably not the milestone you were expecting. But, I have to mark this one. Today, I joined the 100,00 mile club. When we bought this car in 2006, after Hollister was born, it was brand new. We have put every mile on this car. I have put the majority because of commuting for 2 1/2 school years.
I am saddened by this, but thankful for a dependable car to get me to and from work!

Don't worry... we have a BIG milestone coming soon, for real!

Pumpkins

What's Halloween without pumpkins?Hollister's special Mr. Potato Head pumpkin.

He was so proud of this pumpkin!

Trevor's 1st attempt at carving a pumpkin.

He liked it so much he bought more pumpkins...

They aren't the best pictures, but the pumpkins were awesome!

What started out as this:
became this.... YUM!!!
Because why carve pumpkins if you can't eat the seeds?
