Christmas

Health Update:

To start Christmas break, Hamilton had his 5 year old well check. He is 3 ft 8 inches tall and weighs 49.5 pounds. He is in the 75th %tile for his height and the 95th %tile in his weight. It's all consistent with what he has been for years so the doctor was pleased. He did have some wheezing and his oxygen was low due to a viral infection. This made his well check turn into a sick appt. He was given a breathing treatment while we were there and some medicine for home as well. He responded well and was up and running very quickly as usual.

Don't be sad for too long, he isn't as sad as this picture looks.

Hollister had a check up the following day in San Antonio and that went well. He had all the packing removed from his ear, which really made a difference for him. He is doing well and we will return in a few weeks for another check up and a hearing test as well.

We started with this and moved to....
 this:
Looking good!

We celebrated Christmas Eve with my parents and sister and her husband.
On the road... pretty much sums up all 3 of their personalities!

Wanted a picture with my sister.
Think it would be simple.
But my kids see the camera come out and jump right in!!!

One and then....

Two!

Oh silly boys!

Then of course, one with grandma and grandpa a must!

Christmas morning here at home was typical. Boys were spoiled rotten.
Kendrick had to work so his Christmas was later.

You'll see a theme here with Hamilton soon...
A football and all 32 team helmets for the NFL.

He loves  this series and this is the last book he needed to read. He read it ONE day!
Another reader in the family!

One non related football present... Skylanders Trap team for Xbox

Chutes and Ladders, football edition.
All 32 NFL teams included.
VERY COOL!

Loves his football jammies!

Hollister got several characters for his game systems!

Saw these at Buccee's and knew I wanted him to have one. He is so not into stuff like this for graduation, but I had to have it for him. He liked it, even if he won't admit it.

Quick shot of us together.

And then the fun really began!

Hamilton has been very clear for several months about what he wanted.
A football helmet
A football jersey
Football pads
A Football helmet

He never waivered from what he would ask Santa for and when asked which he wanted the most, he said, "football stuff".

It was clear he wanted it all!

A jersey, check.

Football pants, check.
(he was very excited by these)

Football pads, check.

Oh yeah, he is in shock I think!

A helmet, check.

That smile says it all!

Hollister's turn:
His was the biggest present of all and no one could guess what it was.
He is shocked.
They play this every time they go into Academy.
He loves it!!!

Super excited boy here!

And THREE Hours later!!!!!

But before that, this had to happen...

Two, yes, two happy boys!

And just to prove we spend too much on presents and should just stick with boxes....
No, no one got a printer. This was the box we had to use for the shoulder pads.
Hollister enjoyed sitting in it!

Merry Christmas!

Soccer Wrap Up... Better late than never

One last, really late  (and long) post, then on to the current stuff!

The boys played soccer this last season as well as baseball.

Hollister moved up to U10, which is a bigger field and more position playing.

Hamilton stayed in U6.

For Hamilton, soccer didn't always go well. He was either on 100% or off 100%.
He had a great coach and was on a great team, but he wasn't always into playing. He did actually score some goals though and really liked that. I think he also learned some Spanish as well, since he was the only non-Hispanic one on the team.

By these pictures though, he looks like he was an amazing soccer player. Let's just say, he did okay.

Always cheering when a goal was made.

Not his goal, but it is for his team. He is thrilled as you can tell.

Going for a goal!

THE KICK!!!!! And yes, it is in!!!!

 Mostly excited on the sidelines!

Not so much this week though. It was ridiculously cold and he didn't handle it well.

Before the meltdown. Cute, yes. But this boy doesn't like to be cold!

Hollister on the other hand, was not on a good team, but still did well individually. He did score a goal this season as well. It was a long season for him.

Had to include this. Hollister got hurt a few times.
This is his friend, comforting him on the sidelines. Eight year olds are so sweet!

The FINALE!!!!

The soccer tournament.
The best and the worst

The last weekend for soccer is always a tournament.

Hamilton's team went undefeated, 3-0. He even got a goal in the last game.
They won 1st place!
Isn't this chair great? Hamilton's coach is hard core soccer. It was perfect for a long day.
The coaches' U10 team also took first place in this tournament. He used those chairs ALL day.

Medal for playing.

The trophy for 1st place!

Hollister's team on the other hand, lost 2 straight and ended their season without a win.
He got his medal and headed off to baseball later that day.
He loves soccer, but thankfully has baseball to excel in!

And  that wraps up the sports for 2014!
