The French Fry Guy

Anyone remember these guys? They are the "Fry Guys" from Mc Donald's years ago.

Well, today is "F" day in our house

and we have our own Fry Guy that lives here.

So we made French Fries!

Step 1: Get a potato, peeler and a knife...

oh yea, this requires an adult...

DO NOT try this at home

These fries were made by a professional

Step 2: The professional peeling

Step 3: The professional cutting.

Okay, just kidding... its called "staging" for the blog. HA!

No need to call CPS. Finished cutting
Step 4: Place fries in fryer....
We may stage knife pictures, but we don't mess around with hot grease.
This was left to the real professional in the family

Finished product!

Step 5: Fry guy gets to eat his favorite, with ketchup of course!

Hooray for F day!

Dinner and a Movie

Well, movie and dinner if truth be told... We took the younger boys to the movies for Father's day. Hollister and I have been going to some $1 movies this summer, and he keeps asking to see Kung Fu Panda 2. I have been telling him, "Oh we'll see that one with Daddy" since the $1 movies are older movies, like last years kids flicks. So, finally our movie day arrived. He was thrilled. Funniest thing was how Trevor realized how much work it is to take these kids to the movies. For Hollister, its all about the food... for Hamilton, well, he's all over the place and even for a cartoon, he doesn't sit so well. This is also why Hollister and I went to the movies without Hamilton last week. It all worked out though and the movie was really cute.
Afterward, we did some shopping around town and then we picked up Kendrick since he had to work early. We headed to Salt Grass, one of Trevor's favorites. Again, it was a lot of work with the kids. It always is though.
This week I have been working on a project I found here weeks ago. It has been fun to be somewhat crafty. The hardest part is making sure Hollister didn't tell Trevor about it before this Sunday. He actually did really well and it was a nice little treat for him Sunday morning.

ABCs of summer Part 1

As many of you know, Hollister is choosing a letter a day (randomly) and we are doing activities throughout the day that start with that letter. I am seriously working the whole "big school" angle with him. For the most part, he likes it. We do a lot, and I could seriously post a huge blog for each letter, but boring, I know. So here is a taste of what we do. (Don't worry, I am working on a big project about the whole experience, as if you doubted that.)

This is what summer is all about

This weekend was the epitome of summer for us...

Building stuff...

Before:Helpers: Planting stuff: After

The idea behind this is for the vines to grow up the trellis he built and block the stuff we have to store in the backyard.
Yard work:
Chores apply to everyone in this house! Trevor smoked a brisket. First time ever and yep, he nailed it! Water balloons! This was how it started...

And it turned into hoses and buckets!
Trevor trying to shield himself from Hollister and the hose.
How 'bout a hose down your pants? Just plain F-U-N!

Swim Party

Not sure any of these need captions, come on it was a swim party, you know the deal. But aren't they cute! Hamilton LOVED the water and check out his surfing skills!
