A Hollister Update

I know, I have been MIA, but really all that's going on in our lives is sports, sports and  more sports.

oh yea, that thing called school too...

I post so many pictures of Hollister playing sports, I don't even take my camera out anymore. Well, shame on me. Today at football he caught a TWO POINT CONVERSION!!! First one for anyone the entire season.

I saw it, but didn't get a picture or video. Bad Mommy. So, I took out my camera and waited....

He did get to run the ball today. This was a first time too. Remember, from previous posts, he is the official center and snaps the ball almost every offensive down. Today, he did it all, offense, defense, you name it.

I was ready for the play of him running. I was prepared. Here's a video.

I know, its quick and loud. That is not me yelling, that is my neighbor Kristy.

Each time we scored a TD, I was ready for the two point conversion. They did call the play one last time before the end of the game, but it was a botched play and he didn't really have a chance. Of course, I did  get that on video. He was so upset over that one play.

He had an amazing sports day though. In soccer earlier in the day, he scored TWO goals. Soccer is his thing people!
I love this next picture, because that coach is from the other team. I like that we are teaching good sportsmanship from the beginning.

And now school:
The end of the first six weeks was last week, which meant awards this week. Hollister received FOUR awards!!! We are so proud.

The "Roar" award is for good behavior.

He also received a Math and Reading Award for meeting his goals.

And one he rarely receives thanks to his ears, the Perfect Attendance award!

His grades were great. He had all A's!!

They receive reading beads for every 100 minutes they read at home. Hollister received 2 beads and it made him hungry for more. YEA!!! I am so glad something is motivating him to want to read. Reading is a battle here, nightly. This ex-first grade teacher loses her cool with her first grade son. It is so hard being a teacher and reading with my son and trying to be the "mom." But, we are both trying. I am so proud of him and look forward to what this next six weeks brings.
