Anniversary Day

I've been reading a lot this summer about my friends and their anniversaries and how everyone is spending them. It has really been fun. I actually have a few spots I want to visit because of them.

So, for our anniversary I knew there was no "trip" in the picture since we had our big family vacay to SF. I was also okay with this, but of course wanted to spend the day with my hubby.

I was thrilled to get my hubby to take the day off. That is HUGE!!! How did I manage this? Well, he wanted our neighbors to go to a Round Rock Express game with us and the last home stand game was the same day as our anniversary. Since our neighbors are heading for vacation soon, if we didn't go on the 23rd we would have to wait until late August. So, I told him if he took the day off and we went to a nice lunch we could go still do the game that night. He was all for it. He rearranged his scheduled and we had a great day.

We slept in which was awesome. Headed to Fogo de Choa for lunch. It is a Brazilian restaurant that is an all you can eat meat house. It has an amazing salad bar, like none you can ever imagine. Its kind of weird to even call it a salad bar. It had smoked salmon, artichoke hearts, stuff like that.
The process is you are given a red/green card to flip over when you are ready for the meat. Green means go, red means stop. You get the point.
Well, there are 15 different kinds of meat or something crazy like that. The waiters are constantly coming out with meat, amazing meat, and if you have your green card faced up they stop and offer you what they are serving. It is so hard to say no and you'd better flip it back to red if you are ready to stop. It was absolutely delicious for two carnivores like us. We truly had to force ourselves to stop even though we didn't want to.

Afterward we shopped at Sams and Wal-Mart for our neighborhood BBQ this weekend. Isn't that romantic? Funny thing, it was nice because it was only us, no kiddos!

After a much needed nap, we went to the Dell Diamond with our neighbors and enjoyed a baseball game. This was also where our first date was, so it did have some "anniversary connection".
The whole gang.... Mike, Tony, Jack and Kristy, Hollister, Kendrick, and Trevor (minus CJ)
